WoW API < change summaries

This page lists archived summaries of changes to the WoW API (including the Widget API and Lua functions) as seen on forums and other places.

Macro Commands
New /petautocasttoggle <slot or name> Changes autocast status of a pet ability .
New /targetlastenemy Targets last enemy
New /targetlastefriend Targets last enemy
Updated /cancelform Recognized instantly
Updated conditional abbreviations modifier -> mod, button-> btn, actionbar -> bar, equipped -> worn, stance -> form.
Frame methods
Changed UpdateScrollChildRect Automatically called when a child frame, texture or fontstring changes.
New Frame:IsEventRegistered Determines if a frame is registered for a specific event.
New FontString:SetFormattedText Reduces garbage generated by format calls.
New Button:SetFormattedText Reduces garbage generated by format calls.
New FontString:GetHeight Returns a font string's height.
Updated FontString:GetWidth Now takes an optional argument explicit, which, if provided and true, returns 0 if the width has not been explicitly set rather than returning the effective width. Defaults to false.

New GetFramesRegisteredForEvent Returns a list of frames registered for a specific event.
API
New PickupItem Picks up a specific item (by id or item string) from anywhere in your bags.
Updated GetItemCount New includeUses flag that returns the same value that GetActionCount() would for that item
New GetSpellCount Given a spell ID/name, returns the same value that GetActionCount() would return for that spell
